I Remember- It was so good seeing you, knowsitall and all the rest. Hope being out in the cold weather yesterday didn't hurt you. I have had a bad ear ache all day and very tired. Just stayed indoors today and took it easy.

Where's the rest of the gang? Ferguson Proud has so many irons in the fire--but maybe he'll be on here later. I bet he doesn't have to work tomorrow. Sunshine and I Remember ought to be on here, but I bet they're out partying somewhere. Oh, I know what's going on......football!!!

Can one of you computer experts explain to me how to find deleted History? Or how to pull up deleted things, that is in the trash bin.In other words, can someone explain how to find things that someone is not supposed to be looking at and has deleted...Like a 15 yr.old !!!
  2.
I Remember, if it's still in the trash bin, or the recycle bin, all you have to do is right click on it, and take the option of "restore". If it has been totally deleted from the recycle bin, you'll have to get someone to get it off of your hard drive. Now, that I don't know how to do. Hope this helps.

Coach O, on the Gay's Service Station photo, Marlyn was married--last name for her and Wayne should be Durham.

How would they delete it from the recycle bin? It hasn't been deleted from there, because I found it on the history button at the top of each page. He tried telling me that it wasn't him,but I clear the history every time I go to Log Off.If I cleared the history yesterday,it had to be put on there today,am I correct?
  4.
    Coach O, yes, it's correct....good job. Thanks.
  5.
I Remember, yes, if you cleared the history yesterday, and it's on there today, it would have to be today. When you put something in the recycle bin, it has an option to delete it from there too. Kind of like a double delete action I guess. With just about any program, when you delete something, it goes to a "trash" file, or to the "recycle bin". Then to get it out of there, you have to delete it again. When you look at the history file, see if you have "today" selected. It breaks it down by day. You can set your files to keep history for any number of days. It can be set to be kept for 1, 5, 10, or however many days you want it to be.

Tell us some more about the Christmas Pageant. Was that held every year? Did blondie9 have competition? Was it for all the high schools to participate in? Good picture, blondie9.

Sunshine, I believe Coach O and knowitall9 need glasses don't you? Did you see where knowitall9 said there were six women at the meeting yesterday, when there were seven? But maybe in the picture Coach O is talking about, he doesn't think they are all honeys. lol

I believe he does--he's just trying to throw us off track. Don't you think that's where his tobacco crop was?
  9.
Sunshine, that is a good picture of the school that's been posted on here. It was a pretty school wasn't it? What year was that picture made?

    Sunshine & Knowslittle :
Now there are five. The one just took longer to show up. She said if there was going to be a picture she was going to powder her nose.
  10.
Coach O, I bet I know which one had to powder her nose. LOL! That last picture you posted of the school shows how pretty it was--do you know what year that was taken?

I think it was 1959. Looks like Marsha Haney, Shirley Colyer and Lois Ann Fisher on the steps. I thought his tobbaco crop might have been out that way.

    Knowslittle :
May 3, 1959. The photographer from Cumberland Studio in Somerset came out and took it specifically for the Ferguson High School yearbook. They made 8 x 11 color copies of it and several of them were bought by various teachers, parents and townspeople. One hung in Higgins' office. Whether we can still track one down I'm not sure. Duncans might have one. The yearbook didn't have the budget to have color pages, so they printed the photo in black and white.

You're right. It was more than pretty. It was a beautiful school, especially in Spring when all the trees and bushes were in bloom, or in Fall, when the leaves were in color. My parents came down to visit me in October, and they said they weren't too thrilled with the town, but they could see why I was proud to teach and coach at the school.

If you take a road trip and visit Burgin HS, Williamsburg HS, Lynn Camp HS, Augusta HS, Deming HS, Eminence HS, Pineville HS, Barbourville HS, Walton Verona HS, Silver Grove HS, Nicholas County HS, Bracken County HS, Owsley County HS, Menifee County HS, just to name a few, those are schools operating right now, 40 years later, and they don't have nearly as good a building as the Ferguson building you're looking at in the photo. Most of these schools don't have an auditorium; they have a stage at one end of the gym. Their rooms are much smaller, and lots of them, like Augusta, Eminence, Pineville, Barbourville and Silver Grove, have far smaller gyms.

So you tell me : Why, exactly, was the state so intent on closing Ferguson but perfectly willing to leave those other ones alone?
  11.
I was a student at PC during that time, and didn't pay any attention to what was going on in the small town of Ferguson, but after I moved here and heard the people talking about it, it sounded as if there may have been some kind of political jockeying going on. I really don't know, but I bet some of the older folks here could tell us, I would like to know more about it too. From what I remember of the students that came to PC for their final year, they weren't too thrilled that they didn't graduate from their beloved Ferguson. I, too, would have been upset if I'd been in their position. So to answer your question, I don't know. But it was a shame for it to have happened, but it's too late now.
  12.
The photographer from Cumberland Studio that would have made that picture passed away about a year ago. I wonder if the photographer that is in that same building now would have any of those pictures? I think I'll call him and ask. I know he has lots and lots of old pictures. He worked for/with that photographer. He recently moved back into that building.

    I Remember and Coach O,
I guess I started a new discussion, but didn't mean to.

YES !!! Do please check with that photographer and see if he has Ferguson pictures we could go through. There's a famous photo of Nancy we want, some of the Big Trains passing through Ferguson and stopping there, and it would be great if they had some old game photos of Ferguson football, baseball and basketball teams.

    Hometown Girl:
Start as many discussions as you want. That is what makes it entertaining. It was good to see you and Scarlett yesterday. I had not seen either of you for a very long time. I need to say thank you to Scarlett again, for being very kind and helpful to me during a devastating time in my life. She was very - very - kind.

    Hometown Girl :
That's ok. Just let it go, we'll move the discussion onto this thread, and sometimes tomorrow I'll delete it. And we'll correct those names. But I was absolutely certain that as I sat, next to Nancy, looking toward the two women, the one on the LEFT was Scarlett. She and I talked about Gone With The Wind. So is it Hometown Girl (you) sitting closest to Nancy?

So then is Knowslittle the woman in blue, sitting next to Joetta?
